I agree that it seems more active southern California the last year than the last few years. But, I'm not convinced that this is unusual...there was a lot of seismicity in Santa Barbara Channel in the 1960s and 1970s. There are periods that are active in Santa Monica Bay...etc etc.....so, someone might want to graph offshore earthquakes for southern California vs date...only those > M3, for the last 25 or 35 years...since whenever the network was complete enough for this to be meaningful. My guess is you can't do this for Baja because a good network has not been there long enough (although I may be wrong).
