Could nobody properly predict the South Asian cataclysm?

Greetings to you all after a long absence. My writing an article on the past week’s horrors has brought me back to you with a simple question.. So far as I have understood it, not a single agency or individual could predict or forecast the mega Sumatra quake. Can I have a confirmation of denial of this observation?
