Good morning Chris. Thanks for the follow up. It will be real interesting to see what you learn off the coast of California. I suspect you are going to find methane gas, but not sure about ethylene gas.

I read a report not to long ago about finding methane gas in the area of Monterey Bay, Calif. It appears to be seeping from the area of the San Gregorio Fault, but I’m not sure about that.

I wonder if it’s possible to find methane, or ethylene gas along all of the faults, or only in the areas where there is hydrocarbons? I would suspect that it would be found only in areas that have hydrocarbons.

There is a natural gas well about a 5-minute drive from where I live. There are also some abandon oil wells just to the south of Gilroy, California. The oil in the area is still seeping from the ground. At least if was when I was a kid. That was many moons ago. The oil field is almost on top of the San Andreas Fault.
