Earthquake and tornado program is up and running, downloadable (a demonstration version) and starting to fly

The documentation regarding this program begins at the following Web address:

The downloadable program (~400,000 bytes – fairly small file) has this address:

Make sure you scan that file for viruses before opening it. I don’t run that Internet server.

At the moment you have to have the Perl language on your computer in order to run the program. But I understand that a compiled standalone Basic version is moving towards completion. When it is ready people will be able to run the program without the need for Perl.

People who are not professional earthquake forecasters should like it. If you hear an Ear Tone you can load the time into the program and it will generate a list of past earthquakes. The fault zone responsible for the Ear Tone might have had its origins in one of them. If you live near a fault zone and your cat, dog, or parakeet starts acting very strange you can load the time into the program and see if it points to a local fault zone. It also has a setting which enables you to select a latitude and longitude rectangle. And it will try to match the warning signal with only the earthquakes which occurred in that rectangle.

Information regarding program theory and how it works can be found on the following Web page.

Before commenting on this post people should read through that information, especially the part about how the program would tell the difference between an expected aftershock for a California earthquake versus one in Japan.

I am getting excellent help from the international computer programming community. I asked people to test that downloadable version on computer other than the Windows XP system I am using so that I could see where there might be problems. And they have been doing that. Now I need to locate some group which can take charge of program development efforts. I have one in mind and plan to contact them. There is much too much geophysics, celestial mechanics, ocean science, atmospheric science, and electronics involved here for me to manage or even understand everything myself.

I personally believe that this program probably presently represents the only hope, slim as it may be, that many people around the world have of receiving a warning before a destructive earthquake occurs near them. And I hope that program development efforts accelerate.

Finally, I thought that this effort would begin to get moving along once I got people in the international computer programming community involved. But up until recently I did not have a program for them to test.

These are personal opinions.
