EQ near San Simeon dips NNE

Just did a long rambling post and deleted it by mistake before posting. I took the 983 quakes since the M6.5 near San Simeon directly from the SCEC map list, and after a bunch of conversions brought them into the 3D software GOCAD. There are probably losts of errors in the 3D location, but it distinctly looks like the fault dips NNE. There is a hint of irregularity in the earthquakes-like the fault has bends or is en-echelon. I put a 5 km scale in, and Lat-Long tics every tenth of a degree. The earthquakes define a zone over 35 km long-so if this is not partly due to errors in location, the 20 km rupture that has been put out there is not correct.

If the result was prettier I might have made an animation and put it on the web, but instead I just made a vertical view .jpg. If anyone wants it email me if you know who I am, or put your email address on this site if you don't. I guess I'd have to bring it into Illustrator and label it and save as .pdf.

John-if you have a set of well-located aftershocks you want to see in 3D, I can bring them into GOCAD and make an animation-but if I do this would also put the animation on an ftp site and make it available....
