Petra, I'm with you on this one. It may hit granite, but most of the damage might be in the heart of downtown L.A. The Malibu area or anywhere along the Santa Monica Mountain Range is also a possibility. As with the San Simeon EQ, if your EQ occurs, most of the damage will most likely be at some distance from the epicenter.

Why do I agree? My tones don't go that far, but I just have an intuition, as I did with the Sylmar quake in 1971.

Hope this one doesn't pan out.
