Tony (&EQF)-While perhaps I should not have made the post, I was objecting to the vagueness of the post, and that EQF repeatedly makes these kinds of posts, which can not really be evaluated, as has been pointed out by others here. I think I am holding EQF to a different standard than I would hold others, including you. The reason I hold EQF to a different standard is because he claims to be doing serious science, and that he is a very important person with a vast network, and that he is decades ahead of us lowly professional research scientists. Then, some of us lowly research scientists (e.g., me) can detect that maybe EQF is not on top of some (not all) of the subjects that he posts on.

Instead of me just dumping on EQF (which he has opened himself up to by the claims discussed above), I see him as able to do some useful research, and suggest that he not waste time with repeated similar posts that can not be evaluated. For example, instead of just assuming that certain things have an effect (ear tone, solar flares, etc), he could do the kind of evaluation that Roger has done with some input by me. For example, I suggested that someone find a list of the most intense geomagnetic storms I(meaning Kp index) and correlate these against global and regional seismicity. One could find regions where catalogues are complete enough down to M3.

I recognize that this page was originally for earthquake sensitives, and is run by Canie, who is earthquake sensitive. I've never objected to people posting about their pet behavior or a feeling that an earthquake will happen. But, when they try and get scientific, but just accept something that is unsupported as fact, then I'm liable to object. Or, I jumped on someone, followed by Canie, because he posted a bunch of pure nonsense about how plate tectonics was not true, where almost everything in the post was demonstrably false-it turned out he was a creationist and Canie did not want this page to turn into a creation "science" sounding board.

Anyway, it is not my intent to inimidate amateur scientists from posting. If I have too chilling an effect Canie should tell me, and I should probably stop reading or posting this board. Chris
