Earthquake forecasting research

Many people probably believe that earthquake forecasting research can only be done by scientists working in laboratories with millions of dollars worth of instrumentation. In fact there are a number of important earthquake forecasting research efforts in various stages of development which can be discussed in notes posted here. And decisions can be made regarding the direction in which some of them will be heading. Efforts to discuss a few of them will probably be getting underway here next week.
