When Worlds Collide

Hi Todd and Petra,

One of the inherent problems of a board like this (most important to keep extant, btw) is that it is a melting pot for scientists and eq sensitives. That paradigm automatically sets up a thesis/antithesis model we are all trying to synthesize, or at least simmer into a hearty stew. To do that, I believe you need a few good utensils:

1) Good, credible scientists.

2) Sensitives who are willing to share their experiences with the group whether or not they can explain them.

3) A list owner not partial to one side or another (else what would be the point?)

4) Scientists who are not auto-programmed to write us off as kooks.

5) Kooks who are not auto-programmed to write you digit heads off as rigid.

5) People who can at least count.

Thus, Earthwaves was formed as a meeting place for scientists and earthquake sensitives to come crashing into the same parlor, share info, size each other up, and have a little fun with the occasional Corona or margarita (with its subsequent "Huh? Say What?" from PUTT), all the while treating others with the respect they have earned.

We will all never agree here, unless something magical happens, uniting our various data and methodologies (or at least enough of them) to actually come up with a working model of predicting earthquakes that can be scientifically replicated.

You in code mode are the computers; we tone masters, psychics, instinctual types (but not psychos) may be part of your data, given that you believe earthquake sensitivity exists; and if you don't, then what the %$$# are you doing in this venue to begin with?

I am an EQ sensitive. I can't tell you how or why I know things are going to happen, or why I hear tones, or whether those tones are related to
impending earthquakes, but these are my perceptions. Same with Petra, I'd venture to say. And Diane and Mary-Maya wherever you are.

I also learn from the fraction of science posted here that is not over my head.

So come on people, this should be a no-brainer. Let's not put up walls when Canie had a clear vision some years ago of web site where scientists and sensitives could mingle in a unified field. (Sorry. Couldn't resist.)

I'm not asking to be liked, although that is always nice. I'm not asking to be believed. (Even nicer.) I'm only asking to be respected for knowing myself well enough to share my experiences in a public forum, with an occasional prediction or OT thread when things get dull, and see if together we can make a decent pot of stew.*

Cathryn

*Recipe rule #1: Don't mix metaphors; they are much more succulent when diced.

Hope this message doesn't get scrambled. Or posted twice, which also sometimes happens.
