I like this link for telling the type of storm:

From what I can tell this IS NOT a proton event (which would tend to dampen earthquakes - a purely anecdotal statement) - Also the electron flux has bottomed out and those 2 things put together spell 7+ quake to me. Actually, if the Electron flux stays bottomed out, chances go up. That combined with the storm suggests it should be an interesting few days...
