There is a reason you would expect a delayed reaction-it is more likely in my book that a magnetic storm at the surface of the earth could have an effect than an electomagnetic or proton storm in space. The magnetic storm started 24 hours after each flare, and lasted about 24 hours-and this an was unusually quick commencement. So, a delay of a couple days is expected. What we need to do is correlate the magnetic storms themselves (see other post). As for Lowell's thesis-I've commented on this page that it hurts credibility to try and do everything-that if you are doing something controversial it is better to focus on 1 or 2 things at a time. For example, when I read his thesis 3 1/2 years ago I had believed a lot more of this stuff than I do now. But, he had a correlation I just could not believe, which made me wonder about the others. But, even if only a small part is correct, it is worth looking into.... Roger-can you get rid of aftershocks by programming?
