Roger-P.S. on aftershocks

Hello Roger-forgot to mention-your flare #2 has 13 M5+ quakes in day 4. Of these, 10 are a M6.3 quake in Ethiopia and aftershocks (some are almost as large). This is almost like a swarm. I guess once you get a swarm going, the quakes are triggering each other. So, since the M6.3 is slightly larger, if you get rid of all the following quakes, we would be back to 4 M5+ quakes, or about the average. And, just removing 9 quakes would bring the peak down. The fact that there is a peak at 14 days and 29 days makes it start to look like the flares may have nothing or little to do with it. But, we'll see on the data set with aftershocks removed. One reason why I seem to be eager to believe in magentic storm triggering is that a well-known seismologist told me a physical reason why magnetic field fluctuations could trigger quakes. I'll have to email him to see if he minds me posting this.. Chris
