Text formatting

Hi Donald,

Welcome to the other EarthWaves board.  This one is probably
a little better suited for technical discussions in part because of the type
of display being used.

I have to say that I am glad to see someone else posting notes here who is
interested in links between earthquakes and the sun and the moon.

I might be able to help you with your text formatting.

If you get a copy of the color="#3366ff" face="Courier New, Courier, monospace">Netscape
face="Courier New, Courier, monospace"> browser (free) you will find a program
included with it called Composer.  If you prepare your text using
a word processor and then copy it to that program you can then make adjustments
to the text format.  Then have it display the text in the HTML mode,
and copy that formatted text to the EarthWaves text entry screen.  Use
only the text between the *body* and */body* HTML commands.

When it gets posted it will probably look fairly good.  You will likely
need to work on it a bit to get the bugs out.

There are other programs
like that which can be used.  But the Netscape
version is easily available and appears to produce fairly simple formatted
text.  As an experiment I used it to prepare this note which contains
different style text.
