Hi again Donald,

First of all, thanks for using EQF in your notes. There is a long story behind that. And it does not need to be repeated. Essentially, for certain reasons I use EQF for a “Pen Name” here and another Pen Name in Newsgroups notes etc. International earthquake personnel that I talk with have expressed an appreciation of my policies regarding this.

Once again I will suggest that you test the Netscape Compose program for use with generating the code for your posts here. You can go to the Netscape site and download the browser program for free. And it will run on a PC under Windows. I would suggest the following:

*** Download the very large customized version.

*** If you do not have a high speed Internet connection then because of the size of that program you might want to find someone who does and store a downloaded version on a CD and use it to transfer the program to your computer.

*** When you download the program, to make certain that it installs the way you want choose the option which simply stores a copy on your hard drive. If you choose the normal option I believe that it will install itself at the same time that it downloads.

I have tested a number of Web page creation programs. And for precise control over Web page fonts etc. I presently like “Word for Windows” the best. But for generating simple HTML text which can be used in posts here I like “Netscape Compose” the best. It does not provide you with all of the different font options etc. But you can use it to create original HTML reports. And they look fairly good. That way you do not need to create the Web page with a word processor and transfer it to an HTML generation program.

However, suite yourself. It is probably best to use whatever program you are most comfortable with.
