not much from solar flares |
I don't see a whole lot of ocean ridge or volcanikc EQ on the California map or the NEIC-USGS global earthquakes during or in the few days after the several X class flares or the Kp 8 geomagnetic storm. I don't look at catalogues, so maybe some volcanic areas might have flared up, but if the largest flares in a long time don't seem to be followed by anything that jumps out, perhaps the effect is small or non-existent. If X class flares don't do much, I doubt C class flares do anything. And, I've had this opionion after previous X class flares. On the other hand, there seems to be some curious quakes associated in time with major magnetic storms....Chris Follow Ups: ● Re: not much from solar flares - Petra Challus 18:44:39 - 6/4/2003 (18866) (1) ● Re: not much from solar flares - chris in suburbia 07:51:02 - 6/7/2003 (18872) (1) ● Re: not much from solar flares - Petra Challus 10:59:29 - 6/7/2003 (18876) (0) |
