Hi Chris,

The site link you provided is the one I also use, but to determine where the flare struck, (if you are there when it happened) or to see if it impacted the Earth, one needs to look at the "D-Region Absorbtion" link on the same page. At this early hour 5:40AM PST it's very impressive.

My best guess from experienced viewing is that the flare centered in Southern Africa, about mid continent.
