Petra, there was a 5.2 in Rwanda, on the western branch of the East African Rift system. Lowell (and I) had noticed a correlation of E Africa rift EQs a few (often 4-4 1/2) days after large flares. the most notable was the March 1989 6.6 in Malawi, but I think a 7 more recently also was about the same time after a large flare.

So, interesting that you called the area.

On the other hand, I did not see much activity in California-a 3+ at Long Valley. Elsewhere, a 3.5 in Georgia, a 3 in Utah, and the 7 in Alaska. Nothing else on the NEIC page seemed unusual to me.
