During the past few weeks I sent repeated, detailed warnings to just about every forecasting group that I know of on the planet in order to let them know that I thought that they should be looking around for an approaching destructive earthquake. Notes which I post here are largely progress reports.

A major problem which I was running into which made it difficult to say more about the earthquake I was expecting was the fact that I was unable to get the various location determination procedures that I am using to agree on a single, unambiguous location. That might have been partly due to the fact that I do not have a good earthquake data base for that part of China. My procedures rely on a good history of earthquakes in a given area.
