Hi Chris - I'd like to address the issue of what I'd like to see here.

Please don't 'clam up'! Having said that, I think this is a place where people from all areas of earthquake related information - be it prediction, preparedness or just new and interesting info on faults can share information. Of course it will always have an emphasis on quake predictions - be it triggering, sensitives, or outright prediction based on whatever (gps, ulf, elf, tilt, strain, plate tectonics, sensitives....)

My personal direction is in the more scientific realm but as had been said, the original intent of this site was to have a place where sensitives could post their 'signals'. Maybe there can be a melding of the two? Or at least a non-confrontational co-existance. I enjoy going to geological society meetings and listening to all the information presented and going out to the field and studying geology. I think my main focus of study will be structural geology.

I feel much as you do - I don't like to see blatant statements without data to back it up (and I haven't forgotten the request of detailing those mexico-baja-southern cal quake relationships) - and I will always attempt to 'de-bunk' off the wall statements that are way out there. I think that sites that have 10-20 preditions a day are pretty worthless. There are often so many that it just becomes chatter and then there is no value at all in anything that might have some relevance. I don't know of any other board out there that allows for a forum such as this.

I think the main focus here has been educational - thanks in most part to Don and Petra posting interesting finds. I'd love to see more of that from other posters - even if its a link to a new paper or study. I've been so caught up with getting schoolwork done that I haven't had much time to do any serious postings myself. I'm about to start another semester of 17 units and won't have much time until summer.

In the meantime, I will keep an eye on things and see what developes. This board seems to have a life of its own and I just try to keep it out of trouble. I don't know if I really answered the question or not...
