Re: Chairside Notes - AGU - The First Day |
Hi Canie, How many more December finals do you have to go? I gotta hang in there and make sure when you come to the AGU for the first time, I'll be there to give you the tour. Wanna see China Town? There's a church just on the edge where they have photos inside of what happened to the church during the 1906 quake and just across the way, my favorite Chinese Restaurant. Its rather peculiar in that it has built in bench/table seating with little curtains you can pull for total privacy during meals. How about a cable car ride? Believe me, those steep hills really are as steep as they look, maybe even steeper. Yikes. Everyone who sits on the benches slides forward or down depending on which way the hill goes and the turns are a moment to remember. San Francisco is a marvelous city to visit. You could be there for a month and not see everything you wanted to see. But most of what it has is a light hearted spirit. You sense an adventure at every turn and at Christmas time with everything decorated, it looks even better. So hurry up and finish school so you can come to a different kind of school in San Francisco. I bet the tuition is lower.
