Hmmm - there seems to be a ray of hope in some of those answers. A very small one... They do admit to changes in animal behavior but also say its difficult to judge whether its quake related or not and there's some reference to the moon: There have, however, been some small but significant correlations reported between the semi-diurnal tides and the rate of occurrence of aftershocks in some volcanic regions, such as Mammoth Lakes.
