Hi Joy. That is kind of hard question to answer. There were 1,030 nuclear explosions conducted by the U.S. most of which were in Nevada for a total yield of 179 megatons.

There could be a direct relationship to the bomb testing in Nevada to some of the quakes in the surrounding area, but there is no way of knowing for sure that the nuclear bomb testing in fact triggered some of those quakes.

For a nuclear bomb to be affective it should be detonated above the surface as opposed to being detonated on the surface, or below it. The blast affect above the surface is much wider then it would if it were detonated at the surface.

I don’t think there is much chance of 30 or 40 atomic bombs going off in a general triggering an earthquake in another part of the world, but nuclear fallout is another matter. That will be a danger to everyone no matter where they are located. That is and should be the chief concern for everyone. Take Care…Don in creepy town
