Southern California earthquake drought

Michael,
SCSN has listed 14 earthquakes of any magnitude during UT April 30. Apparently
the USGS simply hasn't added these to their listing yet.
While 14 certainly is on the low end of earthquake count for the region, it is
not the record. The least number of events in Southern California on a given day
since Jan 1, 1999 is 3, recorded on April 13 and April 14 during the current quiet
period. The next is 7 events on April 16 also in the current drought. In fact April, 2002
has been the least seismic month in the past 4 years (at least - that was all that
was checked). Six of the quietest 16 days in the past 4 years have occurred in the
area in April, 2002.
Following is a listing of the 20 quietest days in the SCSN catalog starting with the
quietest.
