What was the date of the earthquake in 1977? I searched our records and found only
three events within 20 km of this epicenter of Ml>=2.5. Those occurred on Nov. 27, 1976 -
a Ml 3.8 20 km east; on Oct 30, 1985 (Ml 3.0 20 km north) and Nov. 26, 1988 (Ml 2.6
20 km northeast) of the current epicenter.

In any case, this earthquake must certainly be considered a significant local event
since it is the largest within 15 km of it's epicenter ever recorded. Does it have any
meaning beyond that - that is where I shut up and let the sensitives on this board
have their say as that is beyond my area of expertise.
