Hi Chris, I agree that the large number of aftershocks in the Baja sequence has skewed the numbers of events considerably. Without them, the number of events is really lower this week than normal. Take a look at the SCSN listing of Ml>=2 events. Eliminate the aftershocks and associated events in the Ocotillo region and there have been only 3 events of Ml>=2 in that region over the past 3 days, hardly strong seismicity. As for whether this has anything to do with a large up-coming event, I have no idea. I think we would have to ask Don in Hollister whether there is a possiblity of any of his forecast events being larger than he expects to get an inkling in that direction.
