PREDICTION - Predict CA quake >=M6 by Jan 22 |
Magnitude: =6.0 I believe the conditions look right for a major (>=M6) quake to occur relatively soon in California . Call it gut, or whatever you want. The flurries of recent quakes North and South of the locked area (big bend), and the activity in the bend area itself is a little spooky. I've been thinking about the relationship between the San Andreas fault, Garlock Fault, and the locked area at that location. It could be that part of the pacific plate is trying to split at the Garlock fault and subduct beneath itself, in order to overcome the pressure of the the locked area in the Tejon Pass region due to the bend. I believe Don mentioned that Garlock was a thrust fault, so this would make sense, yes? All the best, Billion
