Hi Cathryn, What you described as "balance episodes" are similiar to what I and many others in Petaluma experienced after the Loma Prieta EQ. The only way I could describe it was the sensation of walking on jello. Years later other people said the same thing. (Loma Prieta had 14,000 aftershocks). While there will most likely be a 3.5 near Carmel Valley, it is close enough to Hollister and the Pinnacles to reap that same sensation, ie: constant ground motion. I'm sure it is some sort of vertigo, akin to sea legs. I'm glad you posted your sensations because so often other sensitives have noted that when quakes are close to them they don't get ear tones, but something else. It will be interesting to see what happens.
