Maybe that extra planet is what hit our planet when it exploded and that's why we have a moon? We know something hit us and then we have the moon... would that make up for the extra mass from the asteroid belt?

The planet factory is an interesting thought - but I sure would have a hard time believing it - You know - when you think about it - we have a pretty creative bunch here!
