SOLAR - GEOMAGNETIC STORM RESEARCH PROJECT

In a note which I posted to the EarthWaves board in the recent past I proposed that a formal research group should be formed in order to effectively deal with all of the data which are available regarding earthquake sensitivity etc. It does not appear that such a group is going to be formed any time soon. And in an effort to see that at least some progress is made, in this note I am recommending that interested parties attempt to get the following relatively simple research effort underway. It basically involves identifying Web sites where information can be found regarding different types of electromagnetic energy field fluctuations which might be affecting human and animal types of earthquake sensitivity.

My own data and conversations which I have had with earthquake sensitives around the world indicate to me that some people are having biological responses to information which is being carried along by low frequency radio waves. At this time I do not know what the frequency of those radio waves might be. Some other people have experiences which are affected by solar and geomagnetic storms. When there is strong proton storm activity some earthquake warning signal type activity is suppressed. Electron type storms could be enhancing some types of warning signal activity.

This proposed research effort would involve creating a Web page with listings of specific Web pages which earthquakes sensitives could examine in an effort to match their warning signal times with the data peaks and troughs being displayed there. It is my expectation that Canie might be willing to host such a Web page at the EarthWaves site. If not then it could be stored at some other site.

Before anyone points out that these types of data are already available at this or that Web site I will state that I am not an expert in the area of solar and geomagnetic storms. I understand only part of the information which is being displayed at those sites. And I expect that the same is true for most other people. Specific Web pages need to be identified. And at this proposed Web page there would be a paragraph or two linked with each Web page address explaining how to interpret the information on the page at that address.

In the event that there is any interest in this, the following are three Web pages which I myself am already trying to monitor:

http://sec.noaa.gov/ftpdir/latest/DGD.txt
http://sec.noaa.gov/ftpdir/lists/costello/ace_pkp_15m.txt
http://www.sel.noaa.gov/rt_plots/elec_3d.html

These are my own opinions.

Note: My statement that "These are my own opinions" is usually not intended to have anything to do with ownership of note contents. I believe that U.S. copyright laws automatically establish content ownership. That statement is instead intended in part to avoid confusion. For example, for some of the people reading these notes English may be a second or third language. And they might not be able to easily determine if information in some note is intended to be opinion or established fact. My "opinion" statement should clarify the matter for my own notes in case there are any questions like that.
