San Andreas in Salton Sea

I've been up for hours-its getting towards lunchtime here in eastern suburbia, the neighbors are using leaf blowers, and it is 65 deg and sunny. When I was a kid, living in suburbia 100 miles south, we would be pond skating in early December (on thin ice). Oh yeah-get to the point: A couple of M2s in southern Salton Sea-a bit south of the Bombay Beach swarm (yes, Lowell did mention things might move south, but that was a bit vague). There is some info on this area in the Armbruster et al abstract to fall AGU-1998. The San Andreas becomes the Brawley seismic zone-but the earthquakes along a narrow zone are right-lateral through this zone. On the south shore of Salton Sea is a rather large geothermal field. One of the earthquakes is in this field. Brawley zone is known for swarms-I believe 3s and 4s are not unusual, but Lowell will correct me if wrong.
Speaking of AGU abstracts, there is some interesting earthquake and even earthquake triggering stuff in this one-try the session that Hough et al are in. You can find these online at www.agu.org (then down a couple of levels). Hmm-if I'm going to keep posting I'll need a line to sign off, but for now its just "chris".
