Hi Don - My sources have the following info on this quake -
Magnitude 6.4Mw
120 deaths
$50 million damage (in 1933 dollars)
Schools damaged the most, 19 fires, 119 major gas line breaks, Marshall Law declared.
10 Magnitude 5 aftershocks.
4 deaths in Orange County
Total affected area: 75,000 square miles.

It was also responsible for the Field act and some stringent building codes.
