Re: Note from a local seismologist in So. California |
Hi: Did I read what I thought I read...??? ==>"This activity also seems to be highly correlated with solar activity, don't you agree?" Wow...another seismo. who is not towing the party line completely.... Welcome aboard. Messages? Heck yeah...here are a few: 1)I would say to put on your helmet for next Sunday evening (the way the trend line has been)! 2)Also, please identify the nearest operating Radon detection sensor in and around the center of this last cluster of quakes Or it's location regardless.... 3)Also, identify any deep wells in and around the same center. 4)Also, what provisions, if any, are there for deploying the home radon test kits continuously every two days in and around the deepest parts of the LA sewer systems (or deep pipes) in a grid pattern ? (Since you are a seismo...I think I know the answer to that one....) 6) Are there any ULF sensor stations in the area (and can their data be accessed over the net?). I know some colleges have them but don't allow net access for some reason.... 7) Do you know who's pumping water, when, and how much in and around the LA area ? 8) If USGS Parkfield has any radon sensors can they be absconded with (moved) to the area of this latest quake cluster center (since you know they'll never need it :)? 9) Will somebody be on duty next Sunday to tweak any swarm data that Might show up? I've got more but don't want to load you up too much.... Follow Ups: ● Re: Note from a local seismologist in So.
