Re: Site Updated - Roger Question |
Hi Roger, I just have to ask this question more in general than to you personally. Scientists have college degrees and most of them careers that certainly are noteable and many of them have computer skills. So when one retires or may be forced into retirement due to lack of government funding, is there any reason these very skilled people cannot find a secondary career, such a becoming a web site builder and making an additional or even a primary income? I had some thoughts about doing it myself, but frankly I really don't have the time as I have other interests that are primary. But there are so many folks who want a web site and are willing to pay a reasonable price to have someone do this for them. My last one cost me $3,000 to get it set up and the hosting fee was $35.00 per month for no services at all. With a shopping basket arrangement the monthly fee would have gone up to $90 per month. That's why I decided to see if I could do this on my own with a free site and my own ingenuity. So far, so good. As I like to say, "for every problem, there is a solution." That's what I'm working on now. Teaching people through the print medium how to solve problems. Some complex, some not. But I keep finding new problems and the answers. I will be glad in the near future hopefully to stop finding new material. I've got all I need right now. LOL Just remember, you cannot succeed or fail, if you do not try. Petra
