Hi Lowell, et al,

I am so glad you made this post today, because last night at around 9:30PM I could have sworn we had a minor earthquake, or there was an earthquake at some distance that was felt here.

I was sitting in a chair that has a wooden frame, but acts like a rocker. I felt the chair move up and down slightly and commented to Don, (who was getting us coffee at the time) that I thought we had just had an earthquake. He checked the chandelier in the kitchen diningroom and saw no movement, but did see the wand on the blinds moving slightly side to side.

We waited a bit and then searched for every bit of data we could find for anything that might influence this area and came up empty.

There were no explosions or heavy trucks that we could associated with this event.

So Lowell, do you think that's what we experienced here last night? Or does this mean we are hoping for an earthquake so much, we are subliminally inventing them??? Oh Gosh.

Which just reminded me about the crack. We took a trip up north Friday afternoon and again made an observation of the area that is having a slide. Its north of Healdsburg, not far from Squaw Rock, a prominent site. Well, its still moving and now the lower area's near the road are actually cracking into pieces. We are not at all sure what the outcome will be, but road closure in that area surely could be a possibility in the near future.

Well, gotta go. We've got to go to our study area and collect kindling for the fire. We had one last night while watching Dante's Peak. Turns out they filmed that in Wallace, Idaho. Darn good scenery before they nuked it. Speaking of which I called a vulcanologist down south the other day and was talking to him about Glacial Peak. He didn't seem to interested in the beginning but when I relayed to him my NW long term hypothesis, well, he wanted to see the links. Its fun when you get a scientist excited, instead of the student.

Is it getting cold enough at night in Boulder to have a fire at night now???? I've been without a fireplace for 7 years, so I'm making good use of it. Fire by night, hot tub my AM. Feels so good.

Petra with Don riding shotgun as usual! I've got to get him to shave before we have fish for dinner. Or maybe he's trying out a new experiment to see if he can filter out the bones with those whiskers.???
