I would like to solicit comments from the user base on the idea of switching to new forum software, one that has more features such as some that have been brought up in the past, for example directly uploading pictures, and possibly email notification of new messages. Other benefits would be additional forums for other topics (such as all this programming talk that I'm sure bore some of you).

Of course, great care would be taken in selecting software that would allow configuration to keep the board user friendly and themed to look as familiar as possible - logos, colors, etc....

If such a switch is made, the current message board would remain online (as well as the rest of the site) as an archive, but posting would simply be disabled.

I know there's only a few of us that routinely post, but I'm sure there's a few lurkers out there as well. I'd like to hear from you as well.
