Yes and he thinks that the curve of number of hits is symmetrical but it isn't.

The normal curve is symmetric and he thinks when I say "no better than chance" it means he's at the top center of that curve. But when the odds are different so are the random number of hits. It's easily possible that less than half the random tries are better than his results.
