I'm not sure why you think TrueBasic is not compatible with windows, since that's what Roger is using it on. Unless you meant something else?

XBasic is compatible with windows, where I'm using it. It's also available for Linux (has issues, though).

XBasic can create .exe files.

Documentation is comprehensive (in html format), but may not be written in a style easily digested for someone just getting started. It's a gripe that's been discussed in the XBasic forum in the past.

In an effort to help Roger get started I have started working on an introductory guide. It's about 1/3rd to 1/2 done.

I also plan to write an XBasic programming manual based on the html docs. My intent isn't to supplant the official documentation but rather provide the same information in a different format that some may find easier to get through. This isn't even started yet, and will likely take many many months.

I'll tell you right now, XBasic *can* be easy to learn, but you have to be willing to ditch preconceived notions about programming based on previous programming experience. Roger is struggling with that now (what little we've done so far). I struggled with it myself when learning. There's a lot of new concepts to learn. It would be the same learning many other languages as well, such as C, so it's not an XBasic thing, but the nature of programming in such powerful languages. It's the difference between making something easy to use, or powerful. You can't have both.
