Re: X-Basic - October 22, 2013 |
It sounds like XBaxic is the way to go then. As I said in another note, FreeBasic runs OK. But it doesn't have any support and not much documentation from what Roger and I could see. And TrueBasic is both a processor time hog and not very compatible with Windows. Also as I said, although it would be nice if XBasic can respond to key presses while at the same time it is generating graphics, that is not a necessity. Perl can do that and store the key press information in a file that could be read say 10 times a second by XBasic. It sounds like it is worth investigating. And Roger should probably be trying to see how well he can work with it. I myself am presently spending most of my time on an effort to get governments and nongovernmental organizations to get their science and problem solving efforts organized and functional. For example, back in 2012 I sent various U.S. Policy Makers a number of reports telling them that they needed to make a serious effort to get their computer programs that handle Social Security and Medicare running better. That information was obviously ignored. And you can see the results of that right now with the present Medicare sign up mess. Below is one of the Web sites I am presently looking at. And I am considering contacting those people and offering to help them with their efforts. They have the right idea. But they appear to have simply run out of steam over the years. http://www.uia.org/encyclopedia/ These are personal opinions.
