The EM Signal and earthquake data on my forecasting Web page indicate to me that this earthquake could probably have been predicted. There was a medium intensity EM Signal detected on January 15, 2013 (em3) that was likely pointing to the approaching earthquake. And there were a number of low intensity signals (em1) that might also have been pointing to its approach.

That doesn't mean that I would have been able to forecast it myself. I don't have any directional capability with my forecasting method and need to use computer programs to generate location information. Those programs work for some earthquakes and not for others.

The point is, the fact that those EM Signals were detected and appear to have been pointing to the approaching earthquake means that if a detection system were developed that could do directional work and if triangulation were then used, it might have been possible to tell exactly where the earthquake could be about to occur.

Another option being checked is to look at the Total Electron Content charts at the times when those medium and high intensity signals are detected. It is possible that the charts will show that there are high electron concentrations where the earthquake is going to occur when the signals are detected.

Can't do everything at once !!!

These are personal opinions.
