Re: Petra's Deep, Dark And Ugly |
Hi Cathryn: No I don't mind answering a few questions: When did you hear this sound? About two months ago. Any reliable sense of its direction from your location? - Definitely South Does your radius extend northward and eastward as far as southward? Yes Can you pinpoint any certain fault? Yes. The San Andreas. At present its the only known fault that is that deep and can deliver an earthquake that would be considered "great." Do you know it is far from you as opposed to local? Yes. The length of the tone told me it was at a distance at least as far away as Parkfield and possibly a little further south. It had a very deep earthy sound vs what I have heard in other area's so I can rule out all of the other locations. There is no granite like sounds, not big on electrical frequencies and not subduction either. Nor fuzzy like geothermal. Any sense of time frame or magnitude? The time frame has already passed what I felt it would be in the beginning, so I have to go with what other sensitives use as a meter in saying "the longer it takes, the bigger the quake." I suspect if not an 8.0 possible within two tenths below or two tenths above. Its the largest ear tone I've ever heard. Actually I felt frightened when I heard it as it seemed so ominous. So now I have to wait and see what shows up by other means. Perhaps an odd cluster, like maybe more activity in places like Simmler. Ft. Tejon is a real possibility. When one considers the activity in the Queen Charlottes before the Olympia quake it to me didn't really come as a surprise. So with this, there should be precursors of a significant nature. If they are present, then of course solar activity would then bring the area to having a larger magnitude quake than might be expected anyway. Being a realist, we all have to know the SAF will not be quiet forever. Thank you, I am feeling much better today. No headaches and it was an enjoyable day. I'll put a post up top about it. Petra
