Thanks for your answers, Petra. My take on this is that it couldn't be (by your explanation) on the peninsula or as close as San Jose (where there have been some moderate quakes this last year that could be construed as foreshocks). Wrong fault, too, as I believe these moderate quakes were on the Calavaras and/or Hayward faults (but I may be mistaken).

I'm casting my vote for Ft. Tejon. A number of microquakes over the last year just at the juncture where the SAF intersects the Garlock. At least I hope it's that far away.

Please keep us posted on any tones you hear that might correlate to the your D,D and U.
