The time consuming part was simply copying all the files. There's been over 38,000 messages posted in the past 13 years.

The hardest part was the small changes I needed to make in the code. Even though Canie's and my server are running the same version of Perl, there's apparently subtle differences. Small bits of code broke that I had to track down. And, not being fluent in Perl... well, Google was my friend. Fortunately Perl is well documented and popular, so there's plenty of help and documentation websites.

Next on the agenda is cleaning up the code. For starters I've been cleaning up the HTML files. The code works, but was originally written more than a decade ago, so I'm bringing it up to current standards. That way later I'll have a good understanding of how it all works and that will make any modifications that much easier.

Canie did a great job at making it work. And her modifications to the original code are easy to understand.

Anyway, folks may notice subtle changes in appearance here and there as I tidy things up. Please let me know if anything breaks.
