There was just a M5.3 quake south of Santa Barbara California, and a little south of Santa Cruz Island. Is strike slip. I have been involved in interpreting faults and stratigraphy in that area. There is a thesis: Sarah Schindler (now Brinton) 2010 Cal State Bakersfield. And a paper by Greg De Hoogh, Sorlien and others on the area farther south, but it includes some material from the Schindler thesis.
I'm waiting for aftershocks to see which fault it might be on (if we mapped it).
