I was taking my regular look at the USGS map, and noticed something. It appears Oklahoma is now getting as many quakes as the entire west coast!!!

I was comparing M2.5+ 30 days.

The west coast included quakes in 11 western states, northern Baja, and Vancouver Island. There were 108 quakes listed.

Oklahoma alone has 102.

I still haven't figured out how to successfully post USGS map links. No matter the method, they don't seem to work.

I'm guessing that when you get a map with quakes you have searched for, it's temporary and goes away when you log off.

No, it's a problem with them not showing properly in posts. The USGS links contain symbols that get interpreted as formatting commands by the software. Even when I use the formatted code function to post them they come out munged.

I guess we'll just have to use a link shortening site, such as http://goo.gl/

For example, this SHOULD take you to the view I've bookmarked for myself to look at CA/NV quakes - http://goo.gl/ZG2dLM - although these are not permanent.

It takes me to the USGS search page, not to the results of a search.

That's weird. It takes me to a map, zoomed to the west cost of the US.
