Re: LA-What is the deal? |
Lowell, Thanks for you information. I really do appreciate it!! As I type this, the LA area has just experienced 3 more micro quakes, Culver City, Glendale and OC, all 1.6 to 2.2 and within and all in one hour. It will be interesting see what happens. I feel I am informed enough to know that this may be normal, but like I originally said, LA doesn't get this many micro quakes. At any rate Lowell, your post was very educational and communicated well. Whatever happens, happens, but at least I know I'm not crazy in my observation of increased activity. Canie: I'm not sure what you meant when you said Cal Tech is posting them faster now than in the past. It seemed to me that the quakes always got posted on a timely basis no matter what size-I'm not quite following what you meant, I've read what you said before, but obviously I'm missing something. Mark: Your post was very very interesting as well. Are you saying that when we drill for the water, move it, ad it, whatever, this may cause a micro quake? Or are you saying once it is added or subtracted it mathmatically does some weight pressure on surrounding faults leading to the smaller quakes. At any rate I appreciate everyone's posts. This board is fun because of everyone's contributions.
