No and yes...I would expect the initial results to be the same *plus* a few outside hits that might have escaped the memory of one putting in the data....The idea is to make it easier for some right brained, graphically oriented folks to use. Instead of filling in forms which have to be totaly accuate in lat long...etal...this would be in the form of a true search engine... If one had the knowledge and access of various Unix commands with a "*" or a *?* to some restricted degree this could be possible. The real trick is to use wild cards in the search but limit them in order to disallow much unwanted data.
