The evidence I am seeing from the far-field forecasts suggests that a minimum amount of triggereing at distance is done for events in the Ms 6-6.4 range. Anything smaller than this is unlikely to have a significant effect except at very close range. Since the earthquakes in Central America were much smaller than 6, there is little likelihood that they were responsible for far field triggering in Vancouver. The alternative explanation is that a regional event such as a hurricane such as Gabrielle gave North America a nudge to the northeast as it passed over Florida two days ago. This would have relieved friction on the Mexican/Central America subduction zone and moved things around a bit in the Pacific Northwest. Seems a likelier prospect to me.
