Re: Vancouver Island - Good Plot Map |
Hi All, From the site above I found this excellent map which shows the earthquakes from 8/28 to present for British Columbia. It's easy to see the swarm of quakes occuring now to the south west of Vancouver Island. There is an oblong fault area to the north east of this location and that is where the quakes occurred before the Olympia subduction quake. I find this very fascinating. If these quake are a build up to a future subduction quake, as they are south of the prior location, one has to ask; does that mean if another subduction event occurs, will it be south of Olympia? You can bet I'd love to hear from a scientist who knows this location and might offer some learned information as to whether this is serious or something that happens from time to time and means nothing. If you're out there, drop in, get your password and impart those words of wisdom, please.
