The subducted East Pacific Rise may be followed by the hot spots which usually form on such rift zones. There are several theories, one of which I noted and another of which you have mentioned. The San Andreas fault zone is a series of strike-slip faults which may or may not have any relation to the east Pacific Rise. The answer is in the eye of the beholder on this one. I don't know where the subducted Farallon Plate is - any guesses from anyone would be welcomed.
