Southwest Volcanic Research Centre |
Hi All. This morning I sent an e-mail to Dr. R.B. Trombley the Principal Research Volcanologist at the Southwest Volcanic Research Centre in Apache Junction, Arizona. I asked him if the earthquakes at Trinidad, Colorado could be related to the movement of magma. Unfortunately I can’t post his reply as I deleted while in the process of cleaning out my e-mail. His reply however was in the negative. The movement of magma was not causing these quakes. The signature on the seismographs is not the kind seen with the movement of magma and most particularly not with quakes of this magnitude. He felt they were most likely associated with a near by fault. Take Care…Don in creepy town Follow Ups: ● Re: Southwest Volcanic Research Centre - Lowell 17:33:11 - 9/7/2001 (9358) (0) |
